Who We Are

The Progressive Animal Welfare Society PAWS of Bainbridge Island is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has provided animal welfare services to the people and pets of Bainbridge and North Kitsap since 1975.

As the animal population rises along with our area's growth, PAWS remains committed to providing the services necessary to protect, enhance and enrich the lives of pets on Bainbridge Island and in North Kitsap.


What We Do

* Respond to pet lost and found calls
* Provide information about pet safety and behavior
* Provide education about responsible pet ownership
* Assist in pet adoptions
* Provide free and low-cost spay/neuter services for pets of low-income residents
* Provide financial assistance for veterinary care
* Assist in controlling the feral cat population by trapping, testing for disease, neutering and releasing to guardians
